Internal or External microphones?
It may be tempting to say that an internal microphones digital recorder may be sufficient for a concert recording. When the type has limited financial resources effectively it is interesting to have fans all the same box and not have to pay to microphones, but it should be seen as one that does not afford investirs in external microphones.
Here are two excerpts above the same concert, with one of an internal microphones Edirol, and the other SP-CMC-8 (in the Sound Professionals , a U.S. manufacturer of microphones 'stealth')

As the two remain listenable as we see (well, rather mean) as the source with external microphones presents a more acute and its less messy, for a final rendering of course more interesting.
Ultimately, if you do not want to spend € 600 a shot (and I understand you correctly here, it was also my case) buy a recorder with internal microphone, but do not stop there, when funds yours will not hesitate at all, go to external mics and a battery-box (or a pre-amp) .
